Mosaic to debut on Hung Kings’ anniversary
A giant mosaic made from 1,400 pottery paintings with the theme Ngay hoi non song tren dat To (National festival in the ancestors’ land) will be unveiled at Hung Kings Temple Historical Relic in Phu Tho Province on the Hung Kings’ anniversary on April 12 (the tenth day of the third lunar month).
The painting, which is 72 meters long and 9.9 meters high, has a frame made from cement and steel featuring images of a dragon, phoenix, Lac Long Quan and Au Co and their children and festival activities. The painting will be set up at the central stage under Phan Dau Hill of the Hung Kings Temple.
Cu Chi Tunnels receive more than 1 million visitors
The Cu Chi Tunnels, an historical site near Ho Chi Minh City, received 1,263,919 visitors, including 411,676 foreigner visitors, in 2010.
Last year, the tourist site introduced some new structures and facilities which featured the life of people and the Army during the war. As a result, the site saw the number of tourists soar with a turnover of more than VND 71 billion; accounting for 105% of last year’s target.
