The Marble Mountain is located 10km South of Danang and consists of around five marble outcrops. The marble these days has been largely hollowed out and the marble used in stores at the base of the mountains is largely imported from China.

Two modern trains, SE19 and SE20, will be put into service as from April 12th for tourists on the Hanoi–Danang route, according to the Hanoi Railway Transportation Company.

The two new trains are expected to meet the high demand of visitors during summer holidays in two famous tourism destinations of the country.

Vietnam Airlines, on March 31st, announced to increase 48 domestic flights from April 28th to May 3rd to meet the customers’ growing demands.

Accordingly, the increased flights include Ha Noi to Nha Trang (8 flights), Ha Noi to Da Nang (8 flights), Ha Noi to Ho Chi Minh city (8 flights), Ho Chi Minh city to Phu Quoc (10 flights), Ho Chi Minh city to Da Nang (6 flights), Ho Chi Minh city to Nha Trang (8 flights). All these routines will use A380 aircraft, and the increase is estimated at 70%.

The fourth Da nang International Fireworks Competition 2011 themed “ Sparkling Han River” will officially take place in the central city of Da Nang from April 29-30.

According to Nguyen Minh Sam, Director of Da Nang Foreign Affairs Department this year’s competition will see the participation of teams from the Republic of Korea (RoK), China , Italy , the UK and the host Da Nang team.

Five teams from the UK, South Korea, Italy, China and Vietnam will participate in the International Firework Festival in the central city of Da Nang on April 29-30.

Some travel firms said that their tours to Da Nang during this time are nearly fully booked.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the central province of Phu Yen’s People’s Committee March 10 hosted a press briefing in Ho Chi Minh City to introduce the National Tourism Year in 2011.

Under the title “Exotic beaches and islands”, Phu Yen province with other six co-hosting province and cities in the south central coastal region have prepared a string of 30 cultural, sports and tourism events during the year in the co-hosting provinces and cities.

Son Tra, a beautiful peninsula with long, white sandy beaches, picturesque landscapes and primeval forests in Danang City is a must-see for bathing, sports, fun and fishing.  

The peninsula is about 10 kilometers from the center of Danang City and is about 693 meters above sea level. Son Tra Mountain can be seen from all over the city and acts as a shield to protect Danang from ocean storms and cyclones.

A group of young scientists is working out on the project to develop tourism products from severe rains and storms in the central region. They believe in the attractiveness of the products, though some people think that this is just a crazy plan
