The Government has approved the fireworks shows at Hạ Long Carnival 2011 and Nha Trang Sea Festival 2011.

The Hạ Long Carnaval 2011, scheduled to take place in the evening of May 1, is among main activities of the Hạ Long Tourism Week 2011 which is slated for April 29- May 2 at Bãi Cháy Tourist Area.

As I made my way to Haiphong City last month, ominously the northeastern monsoon was in full ascendancy.

Most of the northern provinces were hit by a cold spell with Sapa Town having some snowfall. Haiphong had non-stop rain and the temperature was down to nine degrees Celsius.

VN welcomes first New Year foreign visitors

Japan’s cruise liner Pacific Venus carrying 550 tourists and crew docked at the Saigon Port on Feb. 3, the first day of the Lunar New Year, becoming the first foreign visitors to Ho Chi Minh City.

The tourists, mainly Japanese, are on a five-day trans-Vietnam tour from Jan. 31 arranged by Saigontourist travel agency. They visited Ha Long Bay, Da Nang central city, Hoi An ancient town and Hue imperial city.

Vietnam tourism promoted at Travex’s 2011

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will attend Travex’s Expo 2011 to be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from January 18-21.

Vietnam will highlight the historic meaning and cultural value of Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha – Ke Bang, and Ancient Hoi An city recogised as World Heritage sites by UNESCO.

A cruise ship, departing from China, docked in Hon Gai port on December 29, officially reopening Ha Long (Quang Ninh)-Fangchenggang (China) sea route, after a long interruption.

This is a trial cruise as part of preparation to receive Chinese tourists in Ha Long city, scheduled for mid-January, 2011.
