90 red head cranes arrive at Tram Chim wetlands
Ninety red-head cranes have arrived at Tram Chim National Park in the southern province of Dong Thap this month, 27 more than last month and 23 more than last March, Nguyen Van Hung, the head of the national park announced over the weekend.
Hung said the good numbers of birds returning to the park could be the result of the Hydrology Management Project sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund and Can Tho University’s improvements to the park’s ecosystem plus Dong Thap Province’s assigning of over 100 soldiers to protect the park, which has reduced poaching and forest burning.
