“ Da Lat –Flower Festival City” is the title of the 5th Dalat Flower Festival 2012 that will be held from 30th Dec 2011 to 03rd Jan 2012 in Dalat city with many exiting activities.

Da Lat’s take on terraced fields

Visitors to Dalat City in southern Vietnam will find transfixing views of terraced fields which will bring to mind the mountainous Northwest.

Travelling around the outskirts of Da Lat, tourists can enjoy viewing terraced fields of vegetables and flowers, like the work of an artist.

Over 80 travel companies from 24 provinces and cities will attend the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2011, to introduce and sell their products and services at 150 stalls.

This was revealed yesterday by the city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism which will officially open the festival from April 7-10 at 23-9 Park in District 1.

Festival focuses on tourist spots

This year's HCM City Tourism Day 2011 will highlight special aspects of five popular destinations – HCM City, Da Lat, Binh Thuan, Phu Quoc and Hai Phong, organisers of the annual event said yesterday.

La Quoc Khanh, deputy director of the city's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said at a press briefing that a photographic exhibition will present markets in Sai Gon market, flowers in Da Lat, beaches in Mui Ne, Phu Quoc island, and the red flamboyance of poinciana flowers in Hai Phong.

Benefit card draws more to Dalat golf club

Dalat Palace Golf Club in the upland city of Dalat is gaining attraction from cost-conscious visitors due to its new benefit card scheme.

The card retails at $399 and is valid for a year, entitles its holder to 12 rounds at a layout rated the best in Vietnam.

Air Mekong opens non-stop flight Hanoi- Phu Quoc

The Mekong Aviation Joint Stock Company (Air Mekong) will operate non-stop flights from April 28th, between Hanoi and Phu Quoc, Kien Giang Province, using the Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft.

The plane will leave Hanoi at 6:00am for Phu Quoc and return to Hanoi at 12:40pm. It is the longest domestic direct flight in Vietnam but it is still 2 hours less than flights transiting in Ho Chi Minh City.

In-bound tourists up 20 percent during Tet

The tourism industry in Vietnam saw an increase of domestic tourists by 20 percent during the five days of the Lunar New Year festival (Tet) from February 3-7 against last year’s period.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that 75,000 Vietnamese traveled around the country during the holidays.
