The famous citadel in the former imperial capital of Hue drew more than 50,000 tourists, including 30,000 foreigners, during the recent Lunar New Year festival ( Tet).

The information was announced by the Director of the Vietnam Airlines Office in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on December 15.

The guides, which are in many languages including Vietnamese, English, French, Russian and Chinese, will be given to locals and foreigners through travel companies, embassies, foreign agencies in Vietnam, as well as several airlines, according to the administration.
Private carrier Air Mekong will start a non-stop route next Thursday from Hanoi to the southern island of Phu Quoc, news website VnExpress reported.
This is the longest domestic route offered, and it will cut the flying time in half by avoiding a transfer in Ho Chi Minh City, it said.
