Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park
Phong Nha - Ke Bang is a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) at its 27th general assembly session being held in Paris from June 30-July 5 .It protects one of the world's two largest karst regions with several hundred caves and grottoes. Its name derives from Phong Nha cave, the most beautiful one, with numerous fascinating rock formations, and Ke Bang forest. The plateau is probably one of the finest and most distinctive examples of a complex karst landform in Southeast Asia.
Cave tourism highlights Quang Binh Cultural – Tourism Week
The Quang Binh Cultural – Tourism Week 2011 will open on May 27, highlighted by the programme ‘Discovering the Magnificent Beauty of the Province’s Caves’, announced the Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee on April 18.
The programme will be held at the Thien Duong (Paradise) Cave from 8 pm to 9:30 pm on May 28 and feature the mysterious and irresistible beauty of this particular cave, as well as the whole cave system in the locality.

Experts eye ways to protect national park
Tourism promotion and environmental protection in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park were discussed on Nov. 30 in a seminar between Vietnamese and German representatives.
The seminar is part of a communication project funded by the German Development Cooperation to protect the park.

Central region’s tourist site resumes its operation
The Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park in the central province of Quang Binh resumed receiving domestic and foreign visitors as of October 26th after a disruption of nearly a month due to the flooding, said Luu Minh Thanh, Director of the park’s management board.
The recent flooding in October cost the popular tourist site VND 4.2 billion.
