A trip in Snake Village-Le Mat
One thing that should definitely be on your itinerary is a trip to Le Mat - Snake Village! It’s about 10-15 minutes from Old Quarters on the back of a motorcycle-taxi, and trust me, you do want to take a taxi. Any taxi driver will be able to take you there, drop you off, and pick you up a couple of hours later.

Ancient cultural identities remain
For local residents in Le Mat Village, Gia Lam District, Hanoi as well as visitors, it is of great fortune to retain the communal house, named Ha – a beautiful ancient space of the village now facing threats from urbanisation projects in the area.
However, they are worried about local cultural identities when seeing the appearance of more high buildings in the village.
